Artist of the Week: RUSSELL! 💥

RUSSELL! is a Filipino-Canadian artist who has been releasing music for over a decade. Early fans knew him as the rapper D-Pryde, but his music underwent a significant transformation after his mother passed away when he was 18. Maturing quickly, he no longer resonated with his previous music and decided to rebrand himself as RUSSELL!.

Today, RUSSELL!’s music falls into the R&B category, heavily inspired by his mother. He aims to create songs he imagines his mom would have played at full volume while getting ready for work. This shift has made his music feel more authentic and true to his heart.

RUSSELL! recently released an 11-track album called “Dearly Loved,” which has received widespread acclaim, including two Spotify Canada billboard placements.
