It’s Valentine’s Day, and the Too Lost team is sending a big, heartfelt shoutout to each and every one of you. 💝
As an independent artist, you’re not just creating music; you’re creating a community. Take a moment today to tell your fans and supporters how much they mean to you — they’re the heartbeat of what you do. And don’t forget to show yourself some extra love today too, you deserve it. 🥰
Spotify Clips for Independent Artists 📸
Whether you have 1 fan or 1 million fans, anyone who listens to your music wants to know more about you and the songs they love.
Spotify Clips is kind of like a Snapchat that never disappears. In 30 seconds or less, artists can show behind the scenes footage, promote an upcoming release, or just say hey to their fans and thank them for their support.
Artists can also link their clip to a specific song so fans are immediately directed to stream it. It’s one of the most effective yet underutilized tools on Spotify for independent artists. Head over to Spotify for Artists to start uploading Clips!

Artist of the Week: Alex Porat 🌷
Alex Porat is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Toronto who found her way into the music scene through YouTube. As a teenager, she was posting her covers of popular songs and was receiving a lot of positive feedback. In 2018, Shawn Mendes praised her flawless rendition of his song “In My Blood” saying, “Alexandra, you are incredible…you nailed it.” His reaction left Alex in tears. She finally felt like music wasn’t just a pipe dream, inspiring her to start sharing original songs.
Alex’s lyrics are heartfelt, clever, and unapologetically honest. Creating catchy, upbeat pop songs around emotional experiences is her forte. While her early YouTube days attracted attention, it’s her relatable original songs that have kept fans engaged — and now they’re covering her songs!
