Artist of the Week: Oblé Reed 🚀
Growing up in a religious household in Seattle, Oblé Reed’s musical journey started late, with exposure mainly to contemporary Christian music and smooth jazz. Once he got to high school, he discovered artists like J. Cole, igniting his love for hip-hop.
Despite academic success and an acceptance to Stanford, Reed opted to pursue his music. He taught himself how to be an audio engineer, converted a treehouse in his backyard into a full-blown studio, and by 2023 he released his ten-track debut album, “LINDENAVE!”
Reed’s latest single, “CIRCLE THEORY,” is a laid-back, chill rap song with a catchy melody. It’s landed him on major Spotify editorial playlists like Mellow Bars and Alternative Hip-Hop.
