Artist of the Week: Ali Gatie 🌜

Meet Ali Gatie, the Iraqi-Canadian singer/songwriter who went from 200 to over 8 million monthly listeners in just a few years. Ali Gatie’s music career took off when he started posting videos of him singing his original songs online, but everything changed for him in 2019 with the release of “It’s You.” Between the catchy melody, emotional depth, and Ali Gatie’s dreamy vocals, it’s no surprise that the song spent over four weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 and has over 1 billion Spotify streams.

Collaboration has become a defining part of Ali Gatie’s musical journey. He has worked on music with artists like Alessia Cara, Ty Dolla $ign, and Tate McRae. Earlier this month, Ali Gatie released his newest album “all the things i wish i said ” which quickly gained widespread acclaim. One of the tracks off the album, “What If We Met,” landed a spot on several popular Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday and Pop Rising.
