Pink Sweat$

In honor of the first snow hitting our headquarters in New York this weekend, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our East Coast-bred artists whose music feels like a warm, cozy hug. ❄️ You may have seen the name Pink Sweat$, perhaps for his song “At My Worst,” which sat on the Billboard Top Charts for over 25 weeks. Pink Sweat$, originally known as David Bowden, is a Philly-born R&B artist who started making music at age 19. His first breakthrough single was “Honesty,” which was released in 2018 and now has over 331 million Spotify streams. 🌟

The name Pink Sweat$ came about from his early days in the recording studio, where he’d often arrive wearing his cozy pink sweatsuit. But his name is about more than just a staple clothing item. For Pink Sweat$, pink is the sentiment of love and kindness, which he hopes he puts out to the world through his music and his being. It’s no surprise that he was even born on Valentine’s Day. 💕

Pink Sweat$’s music captures the raw essence of unconditional love, creating a vulnerable yet captivating sound. Over the past few years, his fanbase has grown rapidly and he consistently receives recognition from editorial playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms. Pink Sweat$ was named a top artist for Spotify Frequency 2023, a project that recognizes exceptional Black artists, for his song “Guitar.” Pink Sweat$ has collaborated with Justin Bieber, Kehlani, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and other successful artists.

His father was a minister and his mother was a gospel singer, so he was first introduced to music through playing drums at his church. Ironically, drums aren’t at the forefront of his songs; making each track sound relaxing and almost lullaby-esque. While his music doesn’t directly touch on religious topics, it evokes an uplifting and spiritual energy.

Pink Sweat$ is the kind of artist you find yourself listening to repeatedly. The acoustic guitar combined with the smooth, peaceful vocals are addictive. Stream his EP, Volume 3, here: https://too.fm/xjbaadb
