Artist of the Week: Fido đź’Ž
Meet Fido — the Nigerian Afro-fusion artist who went from viral to unstoppable. His debut single, “Awolowo,” shot to #1 on Nigeria’s Top 50 and has since amassed over 30 million global streams. What started as a demo for a freestyle video quickly turned into a breakout hit.
Blending Afrobeats, R&B, soul, trap, and dancehall, Fido’s sound is one of a kind. Raised by a single mother in a small town, Fido’s rise to fame is marked by resilience and ambition. “Awolowo,” named after a bustling street in Nigeria, is all about finding calm in the chaos.
Fans can expect more from Fido soon — with an EP on the way and tour dates coming soon. Haven’t heard “Awolowo” yet? What are you waiting for?!
